Ok, I got my degree in September of last year, took some time off to work on my folio, and work at a local printshop ( as I was unable to secure a nice gd position anywhere after graduation [due to 'economic reasons']), but now I'm really motivated towards relocating and getting a more creative, possibly better paying job. So yeah, this is a first time thing for me and was wanting to know if you had any tips on the process of it all, i know it can't be a cakewalk. Getting the job, the apartment, etc. Well....thanks in advance for any words of wisdom. Dunno if location makes a difference but the cities I'm looking towards are Minneapolis, Chicago, Milwaukee, etc. (Midwest.) Tnx.

yo, these guys are in milwaukee and chicago. I live in Milwaukee, nice city. Lots cheaper than Chicago too.

If you get a job that will pay for your relocation, ask for more than they offer, because they will take takes out of the amount they give you.
In other words, if they say yeah we'll give you $2000 for relocation, you will only get about $1500 after taxes.

Good luck finding a company that will hire you without experience, plus give you relocation benefits in this economy. Not trying to be negative, but shit that's the truth. You wanted it right? ;)

JazX, I've totally got that in mind. I'm not looking for them to specifically provide reloc. benefits, I'm saving for that in fact, just concerned about the problems in the process that you might've experienced. Aside from that I'm just tired of this craphole town, and wanting to move and grow.....

just make sure you have a job waiting or have lots of cash to help you in your persuit. i moved without having a job and it took 7 months to find something that doesn't even pay my bills and is an hour away. the economy is absolute shit right now and who knows when it will be better. just be prepared.
