I think I might be the only ipod lover who does like the new models at all. I hate the non standard firewire plug idea, the buttons... why... the whole idea was navigation without them- now if you jump bump up against them they are triggered. And the new white plastic looks and feels super cheap compared to the old ones. Also I hate the feel of the new 17 inch powerbook- besides the awesome keyboard it feels cheap like a Gateway Computer and all the real estate up front puts strain on the wrist and you better not wear a watch or its scratch city.
Anyway... I have an old first generation ipod (10 gig) and got a new one as a birthday present but sold it. I like the lights and the playlist on command thing but felt no need for a new one since my old one works fine and feels better to me. I rather the money.

I have an old school 5g one and luv luv luv it. Have had no problems with it and have no need yet to upgrade.
I'd trade it for a 72 Firebird but other than that, I'll never part with it. :)

WooHoo...45 post for my little post. I feel honoured!
anyway...although i still think it looks stunning and the whole packing thing is lush...getting to work on my PC is becoming a nightmare. For some reason Ipods don't like firewire cards that are built into motherboards, even it they work fine on everything else. So i've had to go out and get a seperate Fw card to hopefully solve the problem.
So typical Mac product really...looks fantastic, a brilliantly intuitive interface but if something goes wrong it's impossible to correct!

>I have an adaptor so i can >plug mine into the cd changer >port of my car stereo. nice.
Anyone know of such devices? Such as adapters to hook-up the ipod through the cd player/changer for your car?
Any links would be awesome
Thanks!
