What would you say is the best program for a newbie who can play the piano but has never used a Music Creation Program? Any advice for would be Tomitas?

plug-n-play with some simple editing tools: N-Track Studio. it is pretty inexpensive, but easy to use.
I will now preach the word of Jaz_X and tell ya that he swears by Reason. but i've not used it, so i cant say.
SoundForge, and even AcidPro has some plug-n-play capabilities, but it is better for mixing loops n stuff.
there are plenty more music apps out there, but those are the ones i recommend.
