I like nuber 8 the most. However, most of them are just type treatments. Have you tought of developing some kind of a symbol that does not include their name, or initials? Just an idea.
Also, i think your font choices could be a little more refined...

7 & 17 (Nice. Pure and simple)
don't go for 3,
that positive/negative trick is to oldfashion.

bring on #11 and #16, although 16 reminds me of some 80's hiphop/rap band... not sure why.

the majority of these sketches (the more successful ones right now) are remixes of other logos out there. Remember, the whole idea is to brand them with the mark, set them apart from everything else, give them an identity.
I'd avise you to keep sketching.

"the majority of these sketches (the more successful ones right now) are remixes of other logos out there."
that's what i'm thinking.
only refreshing one to me is n°12

i'm missing some unique approach to the company's context.
those logo-ideas aren't bad but they seem a little random, they'd fit every company out there.try to make it a little more unique, more obvious!

like the number 7 on the red square. it has great balance. the number 6 could be good but is to much "already seen" and the 17 if they are young and modern but the l looks like an i.

i agree with eddy..

thanks for all of your feedback...
i agree on some of the issues where they may be a little gteneric, but the client is looking for that "corporate" feeling... i think where the creativity will come into play with be the color schemes and designs on the stationary, brochures, etc...
i will work them a little more though.
