After completely confusing myself when it comes to tax as a freelancer, i've decided to become my own limited company and get an accountant to deal with things. Hooray.
On a more important note, I've come up with several designs for the company site [about 10] but I think i've decided on the look now.
Check it out and tell me what you think so far: http://www.loahn.co.uk
I'm still working on some "flashy" site navigation so you'll only be able to see the news section at the moment.
Comments on things like usability, browser-support et al would be great as well as any handy design tips or things i may be doing wrong or maybe not well enough.
Thankx NT

you know...I have done maybe...5 or 6 freelance things while I have been working fulltime..but never declared it...is that bad?
- jevad0
I really like it - clean and tight!

I think they have ways of finding out. Dunno how tho - i think cash-in-hand is quite hard to trace but most clients would transfer the money or cheques to bank accounts. It then becomes traceable. My problem is I'm a freelance professional musician as well so it was just getting so confusing.
- jevad0
yeah - it was all thourgh cheques...I invoiced them and they paid me...oh there was also that time I freelanced when i was out of work for a month of so 3 days a week at this place...shit...do you reckon I should come clean to them?
- carver0
looks like jevad 's declaring it now, you'll be one of them flans that talk about how long they been working, how late...aw the shite, weh, weh, weh, 5 or 6 things.hahahaha, that means you been give your 'real' job very little time and effort, bit like shagging another bird...if i was your boss, mate, and i found out you( or should i say, one of my employees) were having it on the side i would kick their weedy arse out the door of my glass panelled office, i would then make up a whole load of falsehood, shite basically(like a spurned wife)...about what a coniving whinging little primadonna they were, and yeah, it's bad, in fact, i would say they were daft!!

No need really but keep a backup fund in case you get a surprise tax bill through the post.

very nice site you've made!

so why my mouse move alone when I click the "?" that scared me I wasn't prepared for that... one min I was seeing my cursor and then "puff" lost it... =P
Well, really, is loking good so far, is clean and soft.
On the other side, about the tax and all that.... welll, there is one adventage about living in a 3rd world country.... taxes for freelancers? What the hell is that? =). I only now that someday I need the RIF (a number) and that's it, but as long. I don't have therte is no problem.
- londonBoy0
Anetalaya - what country is that then? .tk?
- londonBoy0
the "?" is there in place to demonstrate the site navigation once I've completed it.

if you are doing freelance on the side and its not kosha, make sure they dont pay you more than about 1K at a time, and make sure you dont put invoice number at 00001 as thats a bit obvious, I alway used to put mine in the hundreds 00121 or something like that. Just think of a number.
If you earn more than about 3K annum on the side then they will probably end up finding you.

Ummph!?!? Once the xml has loaded, it should begin automatically. Music will stream so it will depend on connections speed as to how soon the sound starts.

the "?" thing was actually a retoric question, I just didn't liked my mouse moving without my consent. =)
I live in Venezuela.
.tk is from Tokelau (don't ask me where that is, I don't know very well).
