Do you guys think if it's safe for me to go ahead and buy something this pricey through Amazon and some of the sellers working through it? there are cheap/used ones offered by some sellers but i don't know if it's safe to get it thorught them. Will Amazon intervene if the transaction doesn't work out?

recently i bough Panas DVX100 but throug reputable (yet still cheap) shop in California. The thing was that i could have bought somehing "cheaper" in NYC, but with tax i would pay maore than ordering it online from Cal (i didn't have to pay tax).

What did you pay for that Panasonic DVX100. The lowest on the Canon GL2 on Amazon is 1600 used, but the regualr price is around 2500 new. The seller of the use one is new to amazon so they don't have the ratings to go with their service.

I paid $3200 but i'm sure now you can buy it even cheaper.

I'd like that but it's not in my budget right now and I wouldn't have any use for it now.

Man i understand the budget thing but the quality of the images you get with that Pana is juts superb! Moreover it has a real progressive mode not some bs Frame mode. Plus it gives you so much control over the image that you can tweak any seting and any lighting to loook great.
Then again GL2 is a nice camera as well, i like that it gives you manual control of teh sound levels. It's gite comparable (althoug not completely) to PD150 but cheaper.

This is where i got mine. The site looks terible and not reputable at all, but this place was recomendd to my by many people at 2-pop.com (nowdays i recomend it as well). Call them up and ask for the price as i don't think they post it on the site.
Then let us know (i have afriend who's in the market for 3CCD camera and i was recomending him GL2).

Somebody on AMzon is ofering it for 1255 as brand new but I don't trust them.
