Can anybody recomend some slick monthly printed design books/mags?

i like surface. even if it's design & fashin.
and communication arts.

Print, Eye, Computer Arts (more digital), Communication Arts are the ones i usually look at

Graphis, CA, and HOW sometimes has some good material.

I'm a sucker for HOW, some of the resources in there are priceless. Communication Arts and Print are decent followers, resource wise, but a step ahead in aesthetics. CMYK is an awful zine to stay away from, and StepByStep can come in handy.

advices in how are priceless. true.
and do step by step still exist? i knew it, but i couldn't find it for years.
i'm now in nyc, no trace of it, i really thought it was dead.

FRAME is a well designed mag if you're into architecture/retail environment design...

i would say ComputerArts (for newmedia design esp), but their content has weakened over the past couple of years, probably gettin too popular and high sales..
i love reading "the face" tho it's not 100% related to design only.. but one would say inspiration comes from anywhere (like when i'm sat on my toilet bowl..oops thats personal info)..
IdN mag is good!!!
desktop, aussie mag is good too!!!
but i cant buy them anymore since i've moved from aus..:(my perception is most of the mags from the UK are good and worth a read..
i wish i had more time to read but :(

Is it going to be heaps different?
- chubba0
there's already one called 'Graphic' http://www.magmabooks.com/conten…
hmmmnn, 'Graphik' isn't much different.....
- Bunkum0
Has anyone looked at 'Graphic'. I like it. The writing is above par for a design rag too.

Already read most of my way through the first issue, lots of really good articles and profiles in it.

And it's f**king thick, like a softback book! A bargain at £11.99.

Hi Stimuli. What is 'Emphasis'?
- stimuli0
It was an old college project - a fictional typography magazine. I did a wrap round cover and some spreads for it back in 1997/8. One of my really early works. The issue was themed to the use of the fax machine as an "accidental" design tool.
