what's the scoop? are documents within iframes indexed by google? if there is a definitive resource to find out what search engines index what type of information, please share the link. thanks for your help.

Of course, they're just normal pages after all. You can use meta content to stop the page being searched by spiders or use a frame script that deafults back to the main site when the page is not viewed as part of a frameset.

iFrames are not ideal but will eventually be indexed by google as long as you define a path for spiders and older browsers to follow.
