1,800 -2,500 jevad. closer to the lower 2,000 for something nice.. and it gets even more rediculas if you want to be in a good neighborhood.
but then again.. it can be that crazy here in LA county. I wouldnt live in most places here because im picky. i like in a nice neighborhood of santa monica now and would consider living in brentwood or beverly hills if i moved more inland... so i pay the price. my rent is 1750 for a fairly small 2 bedroom.

san francisco will either make you or break you....
make everyday count, because it's expensive as all hell...
love,
w.w.
- jevad0
more expensive than NY?
- nicolas0
The most expensive in the US.
- jevad0
hahah - that'll be why I want to go there then! ^_^
- nicolas0
Maybe i'll get lucky and make 30k there as well.
I'll make sure to demand a custom mousepad.
- Gorbie0
You can do just fine on 30k. You'll just might have to share a place.
I have several friends who make much less than that and live okay in SF. Granted, they don't have any car payments or insurance to worry about.

sf > ny
manhattan > sfmeditate on that.. ohm.
- Cadillac0
That's true. I've never seen a place more expensive than Manhattan.

True Gorbie.... you can live on 30k... IF you share an apartment... but it would be better if you shared an apartment and made 40

Jevad, you're wife may not be to happy, commuting from SF to San Jose. That's kinda far.
- shellie0
kinda? thats a gnarly commute. im sure people do it but it would be grinding on you. especially w/traffic
- Gorbie0
People in the bay love commuting for some reason. Those fuckers DRIVE!
San Jo is about 40 miles. :(
- jevad0
thats a great link mate - thankyou!
yeah - we are trying to work it all out...looks like we will get more bang for our buck living in SJ...but I'm not a big fan of small(ish) towns...except denver cos it's near the mountains...mmmmm.....
- jevad0
40 miles? dang...that's almost treble what I do to get to work....mind you she would be splitting time between the SF office and the SJ office....
thanks for all the info everyone - very much appreciated!
