cheap fuji superior 100asa.
or sometimes 800 for night w/no flash.

kodak portra 400 vc
for negative 35mm:
fuji 400, great color.

depends what you're going for. i find for commercial photography, kodak 64T color transparency film is nice. outdoors, bright saturated colors, velvia is very punchy and oversaturated. but u can get the same effect if you shoot around mid-day with a polarizing filter.
astia is really good for skintones. but also harder to find now. and expensive.
b&w kodak TMAX 100 still for me. ilford is good as well.
