SWF opens Quicktime

Kindly help me.
When I double click on swf files they automatically open in Quicktime instead of the Flash player.
I double checked MIME types within Quicktime and they are not set to open so WTF is going on?
All swf files visualise with Quicktime icon instead of the default Macromedia one.
Its infuriating.
Thanks
Joe

in os x:
ctrl-click on your swf. select Get Info. Expand the Open With section. Select Flash Player from the drop down list, or your web browser if you don't have one. Click on the Change All... button.

Maybe it's a PC swf? Is the desktop icon quicktime as well?

Mimio, you are absolutely right.
I just created an swf within flashMX (on my Mac) and it opens the flash player.
So thats the problem then ! Its the old PC V Mac biscuit.
Any ideas how to resolve it so that they all open with flash player?
I suspect swfs created with different platforms have some fundamental diffences?
