what you don't see is that comparing NT to CL is like comparing apples to oranges.
as sexypixel said, CL offers things that NT does not such as exhibitions and NT offers things that CL does not such as the PBS and the PV-AN. In all likelyhood, had CL had something similar to the PBS, people would probably cry foul much like some did with brandnewschool.
also, since when was CL made to help promote webpeople? did you try to read their mission statement:

na sexypixel..sorry but yo wrong, we r talking about a place to hang out, a home on the net! where webcommunity is formed n ties bet peeps are built.. u could surf 10-20 portals a day but there'll b always 1 that u'll really rely on n frequent most..
