SOS plea to all caring NT'ers with illustrator knowlege.
I'm looking for decent illustrator resources...namely downloadable styles, suitable for large format work.
Ive found some things I can experiment with on adobe-exchange and I know about illustrator world. any others out there.. ?
I'm about to search the PV-AN as someone is about to say.... 'Hit search..'story is:
client has emergency banner requirement. so far things are under control but Ive been working nonstop to get things going for them. if you have anything that you think might help or even any advice let me know.. I'll be very grateful..
The banner is actually quite large.. 850mm x 2000 mm. and the printer prefers illustrator files.

"Downloadable styles"?
So you mean you have a project requiring Illustrator but you dont know Illustrator and trying to learn last minute?
I'd like to help but Im having a hard time understanding what you need.

thanks, montreal..
I work mainly in photoshop and fireworks, but Im not a complete novice when it comes to vectors, I hope to god you dont think I have a sick fetish for clipart quality stuff.
I've never done any work for print in illustrator apart from some tshirt designs...
and yes I need downloadable styles..
suitable for text at high point sizes. I dont have much time to experiment, but I have time to tweak. its like doing a two week project in 3 days. you wanna do the best you can.
thanks again.

and i still don't understand exactly what you are looking for?
some work that others have done?
large photos?
fonts?
brushes?
patterns?

i reckon he means styles, the effects as the ones you have in PS, which you can add to shapes and texts and the likes.

I have been using AI for years but I never touched those pre-made style yet. How about you tell me what style you want to acheive and I'll tell you how to get there?

sweet..thanks,
Those came in a pack of styles I downloaded off adobe exchange.. The first one I guess looks okayish and might be suitable for large format stuff.
Ive figured out that the second one is using a simple stroke width..

..help but if you need anything specific. Let me know. Both those styles you show me are very easy to do in AI. Took me about 5 mins for both.
