dvd extraction tips?

  hey all,
  we're doing a project for a client that involves taking some raw footage off of a dvd that they provided us .. eventually we'll have to put it back into final cut pro and hopefully (key=hopefully!) it'll come out with little or no quality change when we burn it back onto a dvd...

  any tips or recommended software? pc or mac
