Anyone have any idea why the woman Im sending my swf files to cant open them in the flash player? I emailed them, told her to first drag them to the desktop. When anyone on my team clicks on them it just opens up in the Flash Player right away but she cant open them. She said she just installed the latest player also. They are exported as v5.

could you just send her the swf, and an html file that links it? then it will open in ie no problem.

probably just a problem with mime types through the emailing process. just tell her to launch flash player and open the file you sent her that way instead of just double-clicking it.

zip or stuff the files when you send through email. files can get wacky.

if she says she has the latest player, does she mean the latest web browser plugin? if so, double clicking won't work cos the plugin doesn't automatically associate the browser (ie, moz, etc.) with .swf files.
get her to open the files in ie and see if that works.

or sending the html will work also.

The standalone Flash Player and the Browser plugin for "Flash Player" are different. You can download the standalone with the Flash MX trial, but you'll need to agree to the license. As an alternative, tell her to just open the movie with her browser.

the only prob with opening them in the browser is that they always open and scale to the browser window and dont care about any dimensions you may have specified. Best bet is to make html and just upload them, it will look the way it was intended then.
