I am struggling with this problem for a few hours now, and i could nowhere, and absolutely nowhere find a solution to this problem.
Here's the deal:
Whenever I coded CSS files in BBEdit and want to link them to another CSS file(@import), or even just attach the file, in Dreamweaver, some of these files can't be imported because DW keeps telling me they are binary files not text files. While they ARE text files.
This is really driving me crazy and bringing me behind working schedule.
I tried everything, changed filetype, recoded and saved it from Simpletext/texteditor...no matter what i do, DW keeps telling me they are binary files, just like f#*king that...
>:(
I am really going insane here, and I do hope someone recognizes this error and has a fix for it.
Thx in advance!!

which system are you on:
pc try the following:
make a nes css document using dreamweaver then just open it with an editor maker your changes and save it again - now dreamweaver shouldn´t have problems with it - just a guees tho! :)
- luke0
LOL sorry fot my bad typabilities!

thx, luke. tried that as well.
but as soon as I saved the changes in BBedit or any other simple text-app it will keep telling me it's binary not text...
i am really hopeless.. also posted my Q to the MM Dreamweaver forums now..

...ok one more just in case you don´t know - be sure that in case you create the css docu with DW that you name it with the ending when DW prompts you - otherwise you get a
"style"
instead of a
"style.css"

Im with Luke, whatever you do dont let DW save it, dont even open it and have a peep with DW. do it all in notepad then chage the exctension back to .css

macromedia apps can behave really strange sometimes :)
in case it nothing helps just try reinstall that damn thing - that´s the macromedia solution :)

i might try that last thing, since i have tried everything possible with the extensions (and extension recognition)...
*sigh*
Macromedia-reinstall, here we go.

um. maybe it seems obvious to me, but then again i'm a PC user not a Mac user. ;-)
open the file, select all the text, copy (apple+c). then, open dreamweaver, and paste (ctrl+v). then, save (ctrl+s).
computers are neet. :)

yes, tried it..
nevermind i will reinstall the app later..
- borracho0
oops. i used ctrl in the 2nd two commands. sorry, i'm a pc person. you need to press apple+v and apple+s.
and if you think i was too descriptive, and that you already know how to do those things, well, then i put it to you why you didn't do those things already.
- borracho0
what version of dreamweaver are you using? this sounds like a mac only bug. do you have access to a pc? why don't you post the text to a webpage, i'll save it in dreamweaver and send it back to you.

thx, borracho.
maybe later. gotta run now.
