I have a complex line drawing imported into Flash from AI.
In Photoshop and AI there is a pen + tool that enables you to ADD a point into the existing curve/line/drawing etc.
This doesnt seem possible within flash itself, I have tried every single possible combination : shift click, control click, alt shift click etc etc but I cannot seem to add a point.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Drawing in flash sucKs! They should take out those stupid features and just work on importing illustrator art work correctly.

Agreed. Copy and paste from AI would be fantabublous.

i know how to add A point into the existing curve/line/drawing but may not be the best idea.
create W:0.1 H:0.1 fill and zoom up to 2000%. Out line layers. select and carefully move this fill to the point where you need to add extra point with the arrow key to add. for lines create W :0.3 H: 0.0 and zoom up to 2000%. select and carefully add this line to the point where you need to add a extra point. this seems to add a single point but you need a lot of patience.
good luck! :)

Even better would be if you learned Freehand. It's so much better than Illustrator it's ridiculous. The only thing Illustrator has going for it is stubborn people who refuse to learn a different program, regardless of how superior it is to Illustrator.Freehand 0wnz j00!

momR you the Daddy, it works !
Never tried freehand, cant be bothered to learn new program.
although they tell me it rocks, but Freehand users always slag off Illustrator, I think they have complex or something, illustrate has quality in depth.

i've used and have both AI and FH and I still think AI is way better...

well, how i usually have to do it is a little differet, but still the same effect.
use the regular selevtion tool. and if you are on a PC, then hold down Ctrl and drag the line where you want the curve. what that does, is instead of reshaping the curve, when youhit CTRL, it turns that into a point and puills the curve around it.
anyway, once you do that, then you can select the point and do what you want.
hell, you dont even have to be patient for that to work. haha.right, well... have fun!

"...stubborn people who refuse to learn a different program"
I know Freehand. Im not stubborn, I just don't have an OSX version of Freehand MX. But boy would it be nice if I did.
*wink

trial version plus crack/patch equals highly illegal funtime.
of course i do not condone pirating programs to learn... to do so would be wrong. because everyone should use the open source freehand etc.
please note that my sarcasm is mild and not intended for arguement purpose. =)

just to remind you again "there must be an easier way!!"
good luck Seph :)
- Bio0
well, i find that the way i do it is fairly easy though it shouldnt be necessary.
maybe they will fix this "little" glitch in the next version.
- momR0
although my art work is not complex, i'd like to try the way Bio mentioned sometime.
- Bio0
my artwork is rarely very complex when i draw in flash, but it does work and it is fairly quick. though it does piss me off that i HAVE to do that.
cmon MM, get with it you lazy bastards!
- momR0
btw i wonder why those gradient never comes out right ...
- Seph0
Bio, your method is a little easier but the points are so tightly condensed that if I move the curve above or below the selected bit then the knock on effects are catastrophic.
