Hi,
I am currently messing about with a screensaver made in flash that displays live data from a .txt.
Obviously the live content would only work if the userr was connected to the internet.
Does anyone know if it is possible to do get such a the screensaver to check if the user is conected to the web... if they are connected the live content will be displayed and if they are not an alternative image will be shown?
Please help.

Sorry, don't know anything about what you are trying to do, but i would think that if it were possible, it would be very taxing on the computer while it is trying to take a rest. But good luck...

Did you ever figure this out, Robo, because I'm soon in need of the same thing?

use screenweaver, flash stuido pro and all those other tools - most of them provide fscommands, that let you check if a internet connection is available...

I don't think it would create that much of a strain. Computers are able to quite a bit these days and some of the screensavers out there cause a lot more work than just checking for a net connection.

Could anyone shed some light on the fscommand actionscipt I could use?
