I'm a newbie when it comes to printing large format stuff. so maybe someone could enlighten me.
I have a PSD that has a considerable amount of gradients.. so I go to View > Gamut warning and I get a small percentage of my image in grey..
does this mean the printout is going to be really horrible in that section..?
as long as my browns dont turn to pink or green Im okay with it. anything I should know?

Just convert your document to CMYK colours, and you'll get a feeling of how it will be. The gamut warning indicates which RGB colours that can't be converted accurately to CMYK.
Most of the time, the difference isn't very big, though, so I guess you're in the safe.

Ill hopefully get it printed on canvas..

It will look less saturated. A bit gray-er-ish. That's all.
