Ok, I know, i know... some don't like it, some do..and it's not that new and underground anymore...blabla..
Anyway,
i had a pretty shitty day as a client severely ripped me off (smalltime job, no contracts... my own fault..)... anyway, you need to get on... a lot of xhtml/css coding work needs to be done, and you know you need a good atmosphere to concentrate on the work..
and everytime i open up iTunes I almost ALWAYS end up in my G-Stoned/K7 playlist i made of all my albums from the labels (and some downloaded stuff, including rare live-sets)..
Their eclectic sound, dub, ultrarelaxed atmosphere makes all shit/anger/sadness melt like snow under a hot sun.
But here's the most amazing bit:
I bought their first stuff in the early nineties, when i was just a first grader on the Art Academy.. it helped me get thru my work, or added the right atmosphere for some serious booty-sessions, or any other occasion. And never stopped listening..over and over and over.
In the meantime I really wonder if I am just a bizarre creature born to live on this music, or are there any other folks around who have literaly heard their albums at least a couple of thousand times...
and I mean:
Peter Kruder ( Peace Orchestra and other remix projects under the name Peter Kruder )
Richard Dorfmeister ( Tosca and other remix projects under the name (Dr.) Richard Dorfmeister or just Dr. Richard)
and ofcourse their label-releases (G-Stone) and countless dub repolishings of their stuff...I'd imagine this music is the most addictive stuff you could ever inject into my brains.. seriously, I'd rather quit smoking then throwing away these cd's.
Ok, it's a long story, but I always wanted to share this ridiculous unearthly addiction of mine.
Any others here who are hardcore K&D fans like me?
I feel so silly. Come on, gimme some love and understanding..
(and maybe we could even share some ultra-rare releases/live-sets etc..)
:P

K&D are beautiful, only i have not been into them for as long as you - but i thought i would tell you that i can understand your obsession, or whatever you want to call it, they are amazing. Richard James is one of my many music obsessions. But above all, Bob Dylan does to me what K&D does to you - so i'm with you, music is so exciting isn't it?

i'm with you.. i have almost every thing either one put out...
my crazy obsseion: the roots "do you want more?" album

music can do A LOT to ya, fer sure!
anyway, i heard the name 'fink' somewhere before... can anyone update me with some info?
oh, and for those who want to know fine details about the duo and their colaborators/labels... just ask..hehe... i am becoming a real-life walking K&D encyclopedia. ;)
oh, and watch the name Stereotyp, a (former) graphic designer whose studio was used by the K&D to create their stuff, is rising in fame. Great dubmeister!

get To Rococo Rot and Kreidler if you love K&D, and Tosca and Peace Orchestra of course.

Fink is from Ninjatune I think....

The sessions...
...4am, London. Back from a night out, recounting the previous evenings' events with a couple of friends. "Who's got the Rizlas?" someone asks, music kicks in, smoke fills the room...

This has been a K&D Moment.™

i remember me their live-gig i visited last year, as part of the Drum Rhythm Festival in Amsterdam. It was in one big circus tent, with a giant cloud of blue *smoke that added to the pleasant atmosphere for the (est.) thousand peeps in there..
it was like standing in a giant bong!

Tosca's Sazuki and sazuki in dub, jesus is there anything better. Sharp refined and hits the target everytime. I too am an addict to theyre style. And I'm sick and tired of people comparing them to Thievery Corportation. Far superior in my opinion, and on a different level.

w0rd!
btw.. isn't it Suzuki instead of Sazuki?

hehe, yeah it's suzuki. i like t.corp too though
