What's the general concensus?
I like it.
'Good song' is a good song, 'Sweet song' is a sweet song, and ' moroccan peoples revolutionary' has a good beat.
Thoughts?

i listened to it, but didn't buy it.... 18.99? no dice.
I'm not really a blur fan, but I very much liked what I heard

damn good - saw them at the astoria last saturday - they are on absoloute top form . . . graham will hopefully be returning in the future too.

it's an ok album, for sure not better than their previous stuff

Blur = Shit (sh+eye-ta)

Thanks for that well informed opinion Mimio.
I love it, and can't stop humming the album all day, much to my colleagues annoyance.

catchy catchy boys
- Mimio0
o.k. I'll give credit where it's due.
They borrow from New Order, Iggy(The Stooges) and My Bloody Valentine and Wire quite well.
- ColinZeal0
i think they've passed the stage of having to borrow. there's more to blur than any of those bands, new order included.
- Mimio0
I forgot The Rolling Stones in that assessment too. Someone familiar with any of the bands I've listed should be able to hear the blatant similarities, some even on the same album. They're not a band, they're stylsits.
- ColinZeal0
you can't referr to a band who were able to produce an album like parklife 'stylists'
that album single handedly re-invented England.
- Mimio0
History will forget them. I think you overrate their influence as well.
- ColinZeal0
blur will be more successful in twenty/thirty years time when they have stopped what they're doing than ever before. you underrate them like the rest of the US because quite frankly you don't get it.
- Mimio0
There's nothing to get, their bereft of themselves. Lost in their own simulcura.
By the way, they pale in comparision to other great British bands. Bite your tongue son. Keep exporting us your Radiohead, Massive Attack, Mogwai (Skotch). We Yanks love it.
- ColinZeal0
ah mogwai fan. i see.
Anyhow, if Massive Attack are one of your favourites then you'd be happy to have 3D tell you to stop slating Blur and buy a ticket to one of their forthcoming joint shows in the US which they've been planning.
- Mimio0
I already made that mistake. Spent good money seeing Massive Attack in 98, what a waste. They're far better on the record.
- ColinZeal0
lol. and that was before they went down the pan. you should go to a blur show. you'll be pleasantly surprised :)
- Mimio0
Maybe I can swing some free tickets. Otherwise I'll stick to my guns.
Rock on my friend. Take care.

and you geezer
