Ok, for all of you who are thinking of getting one here’s a few things that you should now.
pc version with a 4 pin fire wire cable.1. You cannot charge it through the 4 pin fire wire cable from the puter, which means you have to charge it through the socket, then connect it through the puter to copy your music, then reconnect it to the power outlet to recharge, a big pain in the hole.
2. Music match is a confusing piece of software. I mounted the ipod no problem first go but the when i launched music match it couldn’t find it. I had to go to the music match website and download the driver (why it didn’t come with the ipod software i do not know?) I would be severely pissed if I didn’t have a net connection.
3. There is a slight click when a track ends and a new one begins
4. If you record a dj mix, the ipod puts a space between mixed tracks of about a second (why?)
5. i have had it a day and it has crashed twice. It crashed when connected to the puter and then it turned itself off when i was walking to work (all hold buttons were on and battery fully charged)
all in all though I love it, just thought id point out these facts incase you were thinking of getting it. I’m hoping all these problems are fixable in the next ipod software update. But yes, it is a great piece of equipment and I love it, so far. Warts and all
