There's a fine line between that stuff anyway. Hip-Hop vs. Trip-Hop and Rock. Good luck to a native Asian trying to sell Mass Appeal in the Hip-Hop world. Especially in USA. African Americans alone wouldn't go for it. No offense. ;)

yeah, I mean anyone can make nice beats and the stuff I have heard from that part of the world has been good, beat wise. I would think within a few years some Asian guy in USA or Canada or Europe might make something tight! ;)

ohh yeah, you got that right about Dr. Dre. Take out his touch and you got Eminem singin' along with a Roland Drum Machine. It just ain't gonna' work.

no i dont think ANY asians would dare to come here.. remember there is no famous asian singers in english language culture.. its gonna take decades for that to happen..
it took many many years of understanding and acceptance for a white kid to rap...
its gonna take another 20 years for an asian kid to rap here
there is that asian kid in Ruff Riders cause he won the Free Style battle on BET.. he is good but i dont know.. would i buy his album? i dont think so.. maybe it should be like Em, i listen to his music thinking that he was black..

let's draw the line between good music and music that sells,
eminem and b boys, for example, they sell, good or bad, that goes to another thread, asian hip hop has good things and bad, like everything, (ying and yang my friend) not being able to sell a lot of records, doesn't mean it's good.
Some people are closeminded and they only enjoy music that is delivered to them on mtv, radio, etc.
I think making an assumption about japanese hip hop without knowing, is inmature, (no offense)
give everything a chance first, then say I dont like it.besides, there is people that make EM like you jazX in the U.S. but that is originally from europe, if you are doing it, why can't asians?

well there are many opinions here and I am not saying that there will NEVER be a good Asian Rapper. Just that there are very few and that for a long while will probably never crack the US Market. I mean come on that is what it is all about for musicians anyway, go ask any record exec. The ultimate goal is to crack the US Market. Buying power etc., etc. Now beat making is a different story. I could for sure see some kids from Asia doing exactly what Dr. Dre does and even better. Get what I mean?

yeah that dude from Ruff Riders isn't bad, but again he is from here, probably NYC and got that influence from growing up over here. I am not generalizing about race. But region and influence is my point. Well, it's all relative anyway, Things always get shaken up anyway.

breaking the us market, doesn't mean is good, realice we are not the center of the universe, yes, it might sell, but it's not garantee of good product.
there is tons of bands, dj, musicians all over the world, that we will never find out about, Im not talking about spice girls, eminem, britney, limp b, etc..

but when it comes to music.. i am VERY easy.. (and other ways too)..
