ok...i live down in north redneck carolina and all these chicks i talk to have these IM messages that say:
"gone to a party" or "gone to the store"
im sorry, but doesnt gone have to have to be a past participle in order for it to be correct. a helping verb in other words...
ie.
i have gone to the store or i have gone to the party
so shouldnt the correct away message read:
"went to the store"
"went to the party"
????
please, please someone fill me in...am i correct or incorrect in this matter. if im incorrect..ill take that. but if im correct...the south has probably the worst education system in the entire WORLD!

"i've done gone to the dogone shop"
What about footballers (UK) that say things like "So I've gone for the ball, then I've went to score"?

when i first came to the US, i first lived and learned my english in Tennessee. I was rather young and should have lost a few bad habits, but some still linger. For instance, I often say "alls" as in "alls i have to do is set the copy and i'm done".

When I was younger I lived in the North of Scotland and now I can't stop saying "kimara haggan hoo" ye ken?
- mayo0

When I was younger I lived in a box. I used to say "please Jesus make it stop raining so I don't have to go out and fetch another box, people will only buy so many washers and dryers in this town." Then one day a bastard in a Ferrari hit my box for fun while I was in it... now I'm really rich and find myself saying all the time "hmmm, I can't decide between the 1928 Merlot or the 1987 Sherry, why don't you give me a couple of cases each and let me ponder which I would like to feed my dog."
