Why is OSX so f**king annoying? I accidentally deleted my Disk Copy app from 10.2.6 and I can't find a replacement. I can't find any info on how to get it back. And why doesn't Apple let you download replacement applications like Disk Copy and iChat?

You can install just that app off the CD cant you?

Couldn't find the info for it. They don't make it easy do they?

Hmm, have you tried downloading the 10.2.6 update again?
Every time I update, it installs apps
that I've deleted, like Mail and Ichat. It could work the same way with disc copy....

it should be on your if you have bought your computer since OSX has been preinstalled (i think anything under two years old) then you should have a cd called Applications. Disk Copy is defnitely on that.

Already tried it, it doesn't work for me. It's frustrating because Toast won't work on my machine either (v5.2).
I only recently reinstalled the system software after my hard-drive packed in. Lost 25GB of fonts, music and software. I don't want to have to reinstall it again.
It's driving me up the wall! I can't even download any other updates for applications as a lot of them are in .dmg format.

Maybe I've overlooked it then? I'd better have another look, just in case I make a total arse of myself! Thanks for the tips anyway guys.

Pacifist 1.0 is a shareware application that opens Mac OS X .pkg package files and allows you to extract individual files and folders out of them. This is useful, for instance, if an application which is installed by the operating system becomes damaged and needs to be reinstalled without the hassle of reinstalling all of Mac OS X. Pacifist is also able to optimize your system's performance by updating prebinding information on your hard disk.

i just realized that Stuffit Expander can also open a dmg I believe. I would try it and see if it works but I am pretty sure it will.
