anybody know the quality of service these two have to offer?
is one better than the other. or i guess the question should be is one less evil than the other.
finally getting my ass a cell-phone and thought this one looks pretty sweet:

oh, specifically, i'm in NYC, so if anybody has had problems or lack of problems here, would love to hear about them.

oh yeah? i've heard some bad things about spring from a friend of mine. how is the reception around town?
i do hear they have the cheapest plans though.

I have Cingular...after dropping my phone in the toilet (eeww) I was forced to get a new one that's fancy schmansy with wireless internet, email, etc. Like it so far. Do you think one is really better than the other?

i've heard bad things from a couple friends with the service. apparently it never works when they're at the office. could be something to do with the frequency at 800 as opposed to 1900 (which is the standard in the US).
i wanted cingular too but after doing some research online i found too many complaints.

verizon. was the one phone company people really liked when I was there.
I had to bring my cali GSM cingular phone to nyc... not good. Maybe if I had a TDMA phone I would have had a better time there... Actually, Cingular isn't that great in cali either...

Check out that for some info.
kpl is right, I've asked everyone i know what they had and if they liked it. and verizon was the only one with almost no complaints. I now have verizon and i would never switch to anyone else right now. Cingular was the worst out of everyone, or at least thats what i found.
Good Luck
