Photoshop 6 Problem

this has pissed me off long enough.. I wiped the disk on my PC about a month ago - i reinstalled all my programs as per usual and everything worked fine except photoshop..
its really slow when using the text tool - considering the pc is a beast of a machine this definitely isn't right..
i've been using my mac instead a lot more but i have a job that requries only my pc now so i've gotta fix this.. hours of changing settings hasn't fixed anything - thought it could be something to do with suitcase but its not considering its working fine with illustrator and fireworks.. google and others have found nothing for me..
i know this is all a bit vague but if anyone's had similar problems maybe they could try and point me in a new direction.. help much appreciated..

the only thing i had similar to that was i had a corrupt font.. :/ sorry thats the only idea i have - im not a pc gal...

do you have illustrator installed? firewall/antivirus? i had this problem long time ago. can't remember what caused it.

I def had this problem in the past. I think that uninstalling Illustrator and photoshop then reinstalling firstly photoshop then illustrator did the job. Good Luck

I've often found things go awry unless you do the oppisite, illustrator then photoshop. I'm assuming you have your scratch disk on a seperate drive?

ye scratch disk on my second drive.. uninstalling photoshop and illustrator then pshop back no has seemed to fix things slightly.. i'll have to try the different combinations for the moment i'm back to my mac!
