dual monitor ibook

i have a second monitor hooked up to my ibook, how do i make it so its not only mirrored, but extended.

hope you weren't planning on this . . it's not possible with the ibooks. only a feature on the powerbooks. :/

as far as i know the only way to get an extended rather than mirrored desktop from the ibook is by using a firmware hack

i have dual monitor hooked uptoy my iBook, and I didn't have to use any Firmware. I pulled in the VGA cable and went to display and clicked "detect display" and played with teh arrangement tab. However, a friend of mine with the 12 inch ibook had to use Firmwarn.
My Specs:
14inch iBook
256 RAM
700 MHZ
Combo Drive*Not sure if you have teh same model or not....
