you can skew it as well, as long as one direction of yer selection is no more then one pixel wide...
in PS7 choose the rectangular marquee tool, then choose fixed size in the options, then fill in 1 px in one box and whatever size you need in the other...
and then pull or skew yer selection!

select one pixel wide and hoever hight the image is and then scale it to however long you want, or you could select one pixel wide and however high then select the move tool and alt click as many times as you want.

How can I do one of them trendy pixel stretch thingies in Photoshop? Sure go ahead and call me names like trendwhore and unoriginal but do tell me how to get it done.
