illustrator outline text?

sorry if this is way basic, but when i outline text in illustrator and print it out of my epson the text gets thicker and loses a bit of its crispness. never realized outlining text affected how it's outputted to print. anyone know if this loss of cripsness also happens when you have things printed w/ offset printers?

it does not happen on professional rips. i've seen the same problem and it never reproduces on blue lines or proofs.

object > path > outline stroke

when you create outlines from text, illustrator for some strange reason, creates this super tiny thin stroke around your type. That maybe the problem, but the other guy is right, it should print out fine on professional rips.

search for 'outline' here. there are other threads about this topic that may help. it will rip fine though.
