Freelancers contracts? Does anyone have example they could show? or have a url even with some documentation.
Cheers!
- pascii0
can u speak german?
- quik0
No, why?
- ********0
Cause its probably in german.
IS this a contract for work that you want to give to a client to sign or a freelance employment contract that an employee gives you to sign?
- quik0
A contract that I can give to clients.

there is one at http://www.aiga.com it is free and in pdf form. you can edit it as you like.
i am sorry i dont have the direct link anymore. i just lost all my old bookmarks cuz i gots me a spiffy new work machine.
but anyway, you can find a good, solid basic contract there if you dig a little.
anyone else remember the direct link!?
- Bio0
HA! found it.
http://aiga.com/resources/Conten…that might help you.

Whats the best way to edit this PDF?
Acrobat?
- Bio0
ah. aint no thang man. =)
just feed me your first born child and we'll be even. heheh.as for editing it, Adobe Acrobat all the way.
some other layout apps will let you import it, but it'll generally break the copy up. this is a mild irritation, but still doable.
- quik0
I was actually thinking of saying you could have my first born...
Thanks a lot for the link.
Did you use this yourself? Is it possible that I can see yours?
Peace
- Bio0
i used this as my first one.
the place i used to work had one that i used a lot. i still use it occasionally, but i havent been doing much freelance lately.
you can edit it a little or a lot. either way, it gives you a basic ass cover so the client cant ream you. well... they still sill, but you can ream their asses right back if it is signed.
- quik0
do you think, no matter what the size of the job, I should ALWAYS try to work under contract?
- ********0
YES!
Indeed. The problem is sometimes the job s too small, its gets pain in the arse to do a contract for.
But regardless, the indemnity clauses alone make it worth doing each time regardless of cost.
- ********0
go get general ones from Microsoft.
- Bio0
i agree in that the size of the job is not really an issue.
unless you are doing it for $50.00 or less, then i'd say get 'em to sign.
if they have a problem with signing it, then you probably dont wanna work for them anyway.
just ddont be confrontational about it and just act like it is part of the standard proceedure.if you are confrontational about it, then they are gonna be suspicious.
sorry if you already know this, but it sounds like you might be just starting out in freelance. after a while, it WILL become standard proceedure and you wont even think about it.
contracts are your best friend. even if you know the person, it is a good idea to have them sign.
whether you take legal action on non-payment is up to you.hope this helps.
