Ok, so if one was thiking about diversifying and being able to add DVD Interfqace Design to their list of skills, what is the industry standard program they would probably be expectde to know?
and I mean besides AE and Photoshop, I mean, what's the program that is most widely used to actually put the interface
onto the DVD?Thanks for any info.

Scenaris which costs a packet... The stuff we've done was on Sonic, but used a very experienced person rather than doing it ourselves...
The D&AD DVD we did last year had nearly two hundred screens on it... quite complex for DVD.
Adobe has a new thing coming out soon.

dvd studio pro if you're on mac

i used dvd studio pro at my prior employment. it got the job done.

dvd studio pro is what 411 video magazine (skateboarding) uses on theirs, i read a big long article on it at the apple website. I think it's fairly inexpensive as far as high end dvd authoring software goes (under 1000$).

in our few experiences we were limited to creating menus in photoshop and having the duplication house do the rest-- i.e. no dvd studio pro, etc, no fancy rollovers, etc etc

Rollovers are extremely limited... you create a one bit alpha, and say what tint and percentage you want it... with none overlapping... sometimes best to have ones that mask your video instead

ok, there is Spruce DVD authoring software to, for the PC.
but these were bought out by Apple about a year or 2 ago, so there has been no new updates since then.
And Sonic authoring software for the Mac.
http://www.sonic.com/default.asp…And no matter what people say it is possible to have overlapping buttons on DVD's programmed by both sonic and spruce - but when played on PC's the mouse struggles to read them!
'kay?
