is it me, or do all Flash programmers/web-tech folk time-out after about 3 months? I pay them well, screamin' 3GB machine, two monitors, friendly atmos, fun projects, infrequent overtime, ergonomic chair.... what the...? This is our third prog to just disappear just in time for delivery on a project!
you'd think I'd have this problem with artists! Nope. They're just as baffled as I am about this. Is this just a strange law of web-nature?

They're seduced by the lifestyle. You know what I mean... lone wolf programmers, fly by night action, get in... get out without leaving a trace.
Livin by the seat of your pants.

He might have fallen into his can of Diet Coke*. Have a look, he still might be there...
*that's what they all drink where i work!

Mountain Dew and Krunchers Chips are the main staple in our guy's diets.

im having the exact opposite experience with dev people. Always on time, takes the job more seriously and in general really nice people. And what kind of contract do you have if they leave, just like that?
- unknown0
I think you're site has just died on me... perhaps you need to check their contractas and get them back in to fix it. I just have a red screen.

the folks you hired have never been hungry.
it is a safe bet that the artists you hired HAVE known hunger. they remember it and come to work so they wont know it again.
there are good programmers out there. the webmaster i worked with at my old university just got fired for working too much overtime. best programmer ive ever worked with. and it pisses me off to no end. but i am off on a tangent. haha.
better luck with your next hire man!

i'll be adding a new clause next time for sure. Can I have some of your dev people?
that's the real sticky part, you don't want to piss them off until you've gone in and changed passwords, etc.
- realpie0
you may need the flash plug-in....?
- unknown0
Whats Flash?
- unknown0
you may need a preloader?... it worked the second time I went to it though... I'm only only a likkle connection in the sticks mind.

hmm, in sweden you really wanna stick with a job programming if you are able to fin one.
I recently got fired beacuse of the "lack of projects" term. That sucks...

I know a programmer who has 11 pc's at home... bt he's the nicest person in the world... ever II

what are you paying them? All the perks in the world doesn't mean anything if you aren't eating dood.
- realpie0
minimum wage, why?
NO, i pay them plenty - its not that.
- unknown0
dull projects... or with little range? Haven't look at your stuff, so not commenting on you, but people can feel there is no scope, or space to develop?
- machito0
speaking as a programmer and an artist, its just that we get lost in our own little program world and feel taken advantage of if we stay till 2am programming while evryone else is sleepin... maybe they just need to speak up and take the iniyiative? Or maybe the radiation is getting to them.
- realpie0
nope - fun projects.
so is public broadcast the best place to put a help wanted posting?
