yeah ok, I was on the right road, sort of to CALM I guess would be right. Let me calm you or let me settle your worries or please you I guess?

appeasement=The act of appeasing, or the state of being appeased
that didn't help me much ,Malbut thank U anyhow =)
U are a good bloke

CALMING? that's what that last part said though.

i'll give u the whole sentence
"Objections came from gouvernements and citizens still comitted to appeasement and isolationism in both Britain and the united States"
luckly I know what isolationism means =)

it's more like giving concession versus being calm...

that might have to do with, again being calmed or being pleased. Such as the citizens of USA and Britain are content or calmed by something, blah, blah not having to do with anything with isolationism but externally along side it. So it would be like they are refraining from using something like force, so they are isolationists. Possibly?

Giving in to unreasonable demands or threats out of weakness or stupidity.
In political terms it is negative and perhaps that is the context you need with regard to the subject

Hmmm? Interesting now that you bring it up.

It's pacification, really just a way of getting the other guy to shut up even if he's wrong.
