flash under html dropdowns?

in the back of my mind, i thought i read somewhere that a html generated dopdown menu would not work if it would go over a swf...am i making this up or not?...

err.. only on a certain browser (believe that's IE 6.something) on Windows platforms that would work..
so would i recommend trying that?
