he did it with a pocket knife! Just imagine how long that would take! It's not like one good hack and thats it... it meant he had to saw back and forth... couldn't cut bone, it means he had to saw through the tendons around his elbow....

I once had a 1200lb women stuck on me. I had to cut off my knob, but luckily I had 2 at the time.
Lucky escape though - I too had run out of water.

it turned out that the boulder was over 800 lbs
after being crushed under a boulder for so long, his arm probably wouldn't have felt much pain as he was hacking it off.

Who knows what you'd be capable of in that situation, you'd be desperate.
Some of the thoughts you have when you've been doing an all-nighter at work are bad enough never mind a few days under a boulder.

There are all kinds of recorded events of people doing incredible things when under extreme amounts of stress or emotion. Farmers lifting 2,600 lb trackers off of people etc etc.
