Guys like this are responsible for giving Flash such a bad name for unnecessary animation (flashterbation).
Take a logo and animate it in a real lame way, mmm, that'll be $199. Bloody parasites!

is it really that bad? I mean to do a basic animation of a logo (and i mean basic) can't be more than an hour of work - 2 hours tops. So what's so wrong with 100 - 200 per hour.
Besides, they are offering separate logo design, which i would imagine is the real money maker, just not as easy to sell.
It's not like they're offering entire logo / letterhead / blah blah, or a $5000 site.. just a logo animation...
I don't know maybe they are dicks... fuck it i need coffee.

Reason I brought it up was cause they sent me an email offering to liven up my logo :-(
"Create a live version of your logo, which will catch the eye of visitors to your website, and directly convey the nature of your business. "

There are two Frontpage housewife hacks in my area now and one of them does swish intros for $300. What a racket. She also says she offers hosting but just puts peoples site on hers. For $240 a year. I hope not many people are stupid enough to fall for it.
