I dont buy albums ... hehe valis on carracho .... otherwise I buy it whereever ... the closest I suppose ... but I always like Archambault (www.archambault.com) local huge store ... competent guys and glas there ... many good advices ... otherwise I listen to student radio there are 3 in montreal and I often call them to know what they just played ... then I look for that ...
these days : stereolab, boards of canada, pink floys (old), king crimson, jethro tull, Looking for broken social scene, mogway (awesome) air, zero 7 and dj shadow ... a bit of beta band and avalanches also ...
cheers

nothing beats direct.
most dischord albums are 10 bucks including shipping. their box set is super sweet. only $35labels wont price gouge you either. + they send you lists of bands you havent heard yet, and every now and then a band photo.

true enough. but for me it's as simple as the fact that the variety of what you can get off of retailers outweighs the benefits of buying label direct. plus nothing beats being able to try a piece of vinyl before you buy
gotta get that dischord box set for sure though

I have redsidencies at a few clubs and I spend mucho dinero every week at dusty grooves here in chicagohttp://www.dustygrooves.c... wax, grammaphone, and reckless records. When I get stuff online its usually http://www.turntablelab.com and when Im in new york its Rock&Soul, Fatbeats, and my favorite of all time BeatStreet Records.
