I am designing a looping flash animation for a touch screen vending kiosk. The dimensions they gave me for the screen were:
19 inch diagonal LCD
TFT technology? (maybe the that is the touch screen tech)
1280 wide x 1024 tall resolutionDo I set up my Flash doc at 1280 by 1024? Or is there some other way I need to set it up?
thanks,

are you using bitmap images? if not you can make a smaller movie and scale it up. By the way what CPU are you using.
A 19" touchscreen using a 1280 x 1024? Damn the last time I researched touch screens they only ran 800x600.

I would think that you would use 1280 x 1024 to be safe, no?

thanks. I am not using any actual images that would lose quality if scaled. Mostly type and illustrated vector art.
I think creating it "to size" would be a smart idea. Just wonder how they would present that with such a large size format. That is if they take down to the client and their laptop or whatever is set on 800 x 600. I guess they would just have to adjust?

create it to size - there's no benefit in creating it smaller unless it is being downloaded.
I just finished making a widescreen touchscreen 42" plasma at 852 x 480. great fun to play with . . .
