I was about to purchase a 15", 867MHz MAC PowerBook today, and my local (Canadaian), dealer said that they're all sold out - any truth to the rumours that there will be an upgraded 15" out shortly?

i don't know, but i think i decided to get up and get the 17" cause i'm not going to wait for the upgraded 15.

Yeah, a 15.4" Aluminum version is supposedly in production... with a PPC 970 processor at some point. However, if you want to boot in OS9, buy a TiBook because they are the only Powerbook that will boot to OS 9.

the rumors say they're going to replace TiBooks with 15" AlBooks soon. same size, new metal!

rumor is that there is going to be a big powerbook update or upgrade within a week.. but who knows.. maybe its just old garbled ibook rumors

I will wait for this new "MUSIC FOR YOUR EARS" Apple announcement that's supposed to come sometime around this weekend. Hopefully something on the 15" will drop with the anticipated iPod and Universal Music news...

dammit. should i get the 17" or wait for the new 15... i'm using my dad's pc at home and i'm starting get annoyed, and so is he.. i'm planning on getting all OSX software anyway, but i just don't know, the 17 maybe a little too big..

i have an one year old G4 titanium powerbook 17". nice machine, but very noizy. anyone knows something about the decibels of the ventilator in the new powerbook series?

I was debating on getting either the 15 super powerbook or the 17". What should I do? It's complicated stuff.

hey stewart... you sure thats a 17, the 17" just came out in the fall... so unless you had some prototype shit going on you're probably using a 15

hey, i've been saving up for powerbook ever since they came out, but there's always that something else the i NEED to get right away. like that 21" monitor, and those shoes, and that memory...

hey man, you can never get to big - i bought a 22" monitor a few months back, and everything else is too small now...
well, if anyone hears about updated 15" PowerBooks, lemme know.
