I've never done 3D before, but I would like to know what kind of formats do they ahve and what I can import into flash? The 3D images are from an architectural and interior design firm
thanks in advance.

Depends on what you mean. If they are renderings, they will just be jpegs. Same as any image. If they are dwg or another file from a drafting program (like Autocad), then you will have to convert them into a format Flash will understand. The easiest would probably be an .ai file (illustrator). Many of the drafting programs can save out as an ai file, an eps, or a wmf. Usually, though, there is no need to worry about the vector format because you won't be scaling it - it will just be an image. I would make them either gifs or jpegs, depending on the amount of colors.
You should ask the firm to provide you with illustrator files or an eps. They should be able to do it and you won't have to worry about having Autocad.
You can take a look at my site, almost everything is 3D.
If you have anymore questions, feel free to email me.

thanks Markus for your help. Really appreciate it.

actually, flash does not understand ai, not well at least. If you do export as ai, open it up in illustrator and export it as a swf. whenever I used MX to open an ai, it always messes up a curve somewhere.
best thing to do is to get swift3d or its plugins to render 3d images into vector format. especially if its an animation.

The best bet is to use a third party app or plugin, just request the core file they used to produce the rendering and import it into plasma, swift3d or use the swift3dmax plugin. then just export as swf with frames, layers or animations intact!

thanks for your advice!!

What are you trying to do with the file? If you are trying to make a wireframe animation, then you will need Swift or Plasma, but if not it would no be useful.

or you could do it all with actionscript like this dude http://www.bit-101.com/lab.html he has a tutorial on 3d http://www.bit-101.com/tutorials… I haven't even tried
