Hi ,
hmm i just need some quick advices :)Some dude e-mailed me , and asked me for prices. I need help figuring out how much these are worth.
Ive never really done print before , but i figure it shouldnt be very hard ? just put stuff in cmyk and put some trim marks , bleed edges , voila ?
anyways.. some dude e-mailed me and he wanted to know price for 1 sided bussiness card , 2 sided business cards , 1 sided flyer , 2 sided flyers , 1 sided panflet , 2 sided panflet ... he also asked how much it would cost to make 1000 copies of bussiness cards and/or flyers and/or panflet, and if i could make a website...( duuuuh )
i dont know but im a designer , so whatever i do , no mater how much copy i make , there should be a base price for the design , then , if the guy wants , i can take care of the impression part for him and go see a print shop , then depending on paper quality , quantity , colors , 1 side or 2 side ill charge the price of the impression shop + say i dunno 15% for taking care of it ?

i need some price to give the guy an ideal ... or maybe i could just give him price for base design of item , anyways i dont know how much u can charge for that either , like how much is worth a biz card ? 300$ (canadian) ..

with all that said, I would say charge him $50/hour for your work and no less than $1K US.

1 sided business cards = A dozen donuts. Always.
2 sided cards = A case of beer. No questions asked.
If he balks, tell him you didn't know it was going to be amateur hour.

its up to you to consider it. charge by the hour of what you know least, eg coding or design,

Right bonseff , but i just wanted to have a general ideal of what it cost . so i can evaluate properly how much i can charge without overchargin or undercharging.
i dont know much about this kinda stuff , so far ive been mostly doing websites design and flash. this is different tho.
ive got a small ideal , but wanted other peeps input.

Sounds like the client wants a fixed price in which case you'll have to think about things like "logo design" - not even sure if the client has one - that in itself could be a big task.
Guess how long it would take to do it all, quote at your hourly rate (anything from $20-$100/hr depending on experience). Sounds like you havn't done too much print work before so I'd go with about $30/hr. For fixed price add at least 20% for changes/client bitch slapping.
