mine was a joe lopes (rip), crystal ball model.
if you like reminiscing about skateboarding, then check out my site, which is full of 'classic skate ads'.

my first one was a joe johnson. Great ramp board but not so good for street. then a mark gonzales, then a lucero (the one with the elephant).
I remember all the asian kids used to like riding hosois...

I never had an old school deck. My first was a Jamie Thomas Zero. it was great, but I did break in during an acid drop, which is, in fact, an old school trick.

skateboard got me stoked on music when i was like 12. i used to go to punk shows and skate the launch ramps and minis and fuck myself up. we would skate all night and drink slurpees. then the punk got louder and the beer arrived. i loved the dead kennedies, the old h-street team, alva with bill danforth.
then came world industries and basically changed the world of skateboarding. oh and the new deal team used to rip as well!!but i love that time. skateboarding and snowboarding good shit!!
not to mention how great board graphics where: http://steveshook.com/oldschool/…

Im glad to finally see a topic that moves me. I totally agree with all that has been said. Way back when I started skating it was the old Vision-psyco and Gonz models that moved me. Santa Cruz-Jason Jesse, Claus Grabke ect. but Transworld is where I got these great visuals of type, color and photos that pretty much made me who I am today. Who wouldve thought? David Carson, bless that man.

Terje was always my favorite back then, or Noah what's-his-face. He was good too. I miss those days of VHS Snowboard video pot smoking days. Hee, hee ;)

craig kelly unfortunatly died in an avalanche here in bc this winter. As for jeff brushie i think hes smoking crack with russel winfield.
sephil- i totally agree. these 2 sports have giving me and taught me alot. skateboarding pretty heavily influences most aspects of todays urban culture.
- JazX0
or was that Craig Kelly?
- JazX0
I think Jeff Brushie died, didn't he?

The salasnick was very beautiful sleak too but the construction of the Sims of this years was shit... It was my first snowboard destroyed before the end of the first season.
Skateboarding & snowboard design is the reason why I'm in graphic design right now. I wanted to have cool job and making illustration for board seams cool for me... at the time we was looking at David Carson Transworl skateboarding magazine. No surprise it influenced us.
