what is the average wage a web designer gets working for a company ?

I'd say 30grand a year in US,
this would be the average web designer working for the average webdesign company !!!

it all depends on what you know, web designer sounds like low down version of a web developer, if your just doing front-end not much, if you are in charge of back-end and multimedia based stuff then much more, anywhere from $25K to 75K. I maxed out at 58K in NYC.

If I'm doing well, I get a bonus: four hours a week outside, no thrashing on my feet.
Sometimes I have to clean up after the senior designers, and most of my day is spent cleaning up the bodies of the junior designers who didn't make it.
It's tough, but I'm thinking that at one point or another I can get promoted to head developer or maybe get a couple of client my own.
I heard they sometimes take you out to lunch.

check out salary.com which says we're supposed to be making 80-90k! I don't know about you buy I'm in the 60k area for a med-large ad agency.

I am doing inhouse design for 70k in Copenhagen, Denmark.....

I gross 35k doing ASP development. I am a one man show. Graphics, coding, copy, database admin, etc.

It's not what you know - it's who. I worked for Clear Channel for 4-5 years and now I sit back and let my old co-workers and contacts sell my services.
I don't even have time to finish my own freekin web page. Most people don't even care. Hell, I'm just getting around to making my business cards.
I also do work for some good friends that are investment bankers. They get me work through their contacts too. I will also be doing their web site soon. I am suppose to think of the most outragous price for the web page and charge them that.
And I am the hidden web guy for two marketing firms. They sell em' I design and build em'.
Seems to be working well.Stop talking to the worthless artsy types -And talk to people with the money and the power.
