Have you ever had to design something and all you got from the client was shitty snapshots? If you have and the project turned out well anyway (now Im talking shitty photos that were the main focus..not crappy little headshots) can you send some links I need some feeling of hope here and right now Im just hitting my head against the wall here

duotones can almost ALMOST fix anything... shit even i look 1/2 decent in duotone

for bad quality try to get the plug-in "genuine fractals" for photoshop it might help a little.

yeah I found that...thats not what I needed...but now that I know its there sounds super useful.
I wasnt clear when I said shitty photos. I meant they photos look bad...the angles, composition is fine just bad photos looks like family home video...matter a fact they are frames from a digi-video camera

This is a basic strategy – but it helps to change the colour photos to black and white or greyscale, and then make them duotones, or whatever. It takes some of the cheesiness out of them, and adds some uniformity in their treatment.

ahhh I cant go DUOtone on this one...and yes I cant stand when they send the damn photos in the word doc...who started that? a project manager I bet!

Can you beg the client to re-shoot? Or use something else? Can you stylize it somehow? When musicians send me crappy photos I close crop, odd crop, blend in, or high contrast, blow it out.
