hey all, someone just sent me the link to another firm called celsius design that just arrived on the scene a couple months ago apparently ( I am not sure if thats a fact, haven't been able to get any WHOIS information on them).
But other than the fact they stole my firm's name and style outright, they also seem to have taken alot of inspiration from the previous version of my site as well. Maybe I'm just looking to hard into these things. can you guys tell me what you think ... heres version2 of my site:

they dont look much like competition but....
wouldnt it be celsiusdesign.au instead of celsiusdesign.com.au. thats odd. i guess they really wanted .com in there.
the sites look nothing alike.. but yours is very nice. i wonder why people dont do a quick search for a name before they decide to call their company something exactly the same as another. i did before registering mine.
i also dont understand why people dont register and tm their names. im going to register mine soon... so if another designcola comes around.. i can threaten to sue their pants off and hopefully they'll go away. that way legally theres some documentation showing who came first and who has the rights to what.
however.. i dont know how much that would help if the other company is in another country. hopefully theyre not trying to pass off to their potential clients that you or your site is affiliated or even the same company.
some client of theirs could easily do a search for celsiusdesign and may come across your site first on the net.

really? i didnt know that. i thought austrailia would have a shorter extention. but how would i know i dont think ive ever looks at a .com.au site before.

i hate seeing posts about ripoffs when it ends up not even being a rip at all.
i always think that whoever's bitching has this enormously huge ego, and they think that anyone who does something in a similar vein had to have copied them because they are the god of creativity

also it's not that unique of a name, and the symbol isn't really very "original" either...

i think you should email them first before you go flaming them in a public forum, give them a chance to explain, maybe it is one big coincidence, i see some resemblances but no alot.

No rip there. Your design is soooo much nicer, I wouldn't worry about it.
If they are new, they sure came up with a lot of work quickly! I'd guess that there was a lot of coincidence happening.
Choosing the name 'CELSIUS' and having the degree on the side seems possible.
Influenced, maybe, ripped, nah.

I don't think it's a rip. You guys have the same name and a similar style of design. They may even be influenced by your work but I think they're their own identity still. BTW, your stuff is good.

some tima ago someone ripped a piece of mine, it didn't bother me until i received emails and read on messageboards about who was ripping who... at that moment it does bother... there is a differnce between being naturaly inspired and tracing a "design" with polygonal lasso tool.

hey guys .. I never meant to come out pointing fingers and calling names here ... I was not even sure if it was a rip or anything ... thats why I was bringing it up for discussion. I haven't emailed them because I didn't want to make a case to them personally if, well, 17 other people looked at it and said ... yeah .. its close, but no rip .. which is seemingly the case.
sometimes when you see something very similar to your work you think, hm .. i wonder if they saw my stuff and got inspiration from it. But like you guys said, the name and logo isnt the most original to begin with, so it is entirely possible they never even heard of my group.
