how do you handle Pantone colors to use them for web? thx
- popovich0
how do you have your Pantone colros? Just as a text, written down on a piece of paper, or as a file?
If it's just written down on the paper - tell me the codes, I'll tell you the RGB/CMYK
else it's easy. In Illustrator you can convert from Pantone to RGb or CMYK... There is a button there... :))

You look at the pantone book then try and recreate it on screen.

in photoshop and illustrator there are pantone palets. not sure if you are using those.

the point is: do you just convert the color:
pantone431=10/0/065=84/88/91 ? or do you try what webcolor comes closest to it?
- popovich0
convert. never trust your eye..... in this respect. software/hardware combination works better in this regard. :)

crap. Stick the swatch next to your screen and take it from there.
Some oantone yellows, look brown if you use the swatch libraries in the photoshop colour pallette

thats a word! sounds good to me, thanks

crap! set your brightness and contrast to match the screen with Pantone!
doh!

hmmmm!?

pop is right, didnt think of that. Shows how dumb I am at times. I would do a combination of both to be honest.

ummmm is it just me or is this question ass backwards.
the pantones will look different on screen from the book
THAT IS WHY THEY MADE PANTONE BOOKS....so when you are working on something you can choose a pantone color so when it prints you don't get unexpected results
don't think it is really designed for work on screen but i guess you could use them for a nice color palette to work from
