anyone know what brand is good for it?

if you have a g4 with a push-open traycover, then you have to use apple branded ones, or remove the faceplate from your mac.
kinda sucks.

no you don't ... you can use almost any internal cd burner on a MDD G4, you just have to remove the face plate from the cd burner, which is almost always an eaisly poped-off piece of plasic...
other than that, if it's an external burner, almost all are supported, so check the reviews at places like amazon.com and you should do pretty well.

I've had a great experience with my external Que!Fire burner... it's a hell of a lot faster than my old G4 can handle, but on a newer machine, you can burn at 24x and higher

I have a Que!Fire burner was well. I have no complaints. I only wish I had got the internal burner in my TiBook.

how much do those Que go for?
I gotta burn some quicktime mov.s on them... the faster the better I think.
