I had a blue plastic bowl. the water was mostly clear :)
The camera was about 10cm away from the drops - I took about 200 pics with continuous shutter on and about 20 came out good - the rest the drops were out of the camera lens view.
I tried dripping honey into the water but it looked like mud. Give me ideas for more fun things? anyone?

fill a white bathtub with water and add red food colouring! +naked lady optional.

On an interesting side note...
I once saw an experiment filming a faucet running water, with a high speed camera and a strobe light.
It turns out that the running water, which looks constant to you and I, is actually a rapid series of large drops of water.
It was interesting to see.

if you can, slow the shutter down and use a flash outside at night. make sure you got someone or something in the foreground. then spin the camera while holding the shutter open. cool stuff.
