What's up peoples! Check this out, I getting ready to go on a 2 day hike up a mountain. First time doing this, but I've always wanted to experience it. Has anyone done this? I'm putting together a checklist of the necessary stuff that I should carry in my backpack. My Question is what are the necessary stuff?

dont go with your girlfriend... you end up carrying everything... i went on a 3 day backcountry trip with my ex and damn near died. she kept whining about getting attacked by bears... i was kind of hoping one would show up and eat her so i could ditch all her stuff.
so scratch girlfriend off the list, unless she's stronger than you.
water purifier is big... carrying too much water adds a lot of unnecessary weight.
i forgot to bring a flashlight too, which really would have come in handy.

windscreen for your camp stove can be key. aluminum foil works well and weighs nothing.

try not to drink to much water/beer and take a piss before you go to sleep at night. it sucks ass when you have to get up in the middle of the night and find a good spot to piss when it's pitch dark. plus the bogey man or a bear might get you...
